Tit For Tat........

Well, I knew it wouldn't take long for the attack ads to hit full throttle, and it has. MCcain is attacking Obama's experience, foreign relations, bill accountability, and just about everything else his campaign can distort and disfigure. But, Obama is doing the same to MCcain, attacking his War record, domestic issues, and most directly his alignment on issues with Bush.
The issue that concerns me is the rhetoric spin-mastery that goes on during the Campaign season. We live in a day where there are multitudes of advisors and personal assisants that prep the Candidate to say and act the way you want them to, but the problem is your not getting the candor and honesty we deserve to get. Your getting an image that is persuaded by the latest gallop polls that are published in the morning New York Times and Washington Post.
My point is this, KNOW your candidate, look into the issues that concern you and that you think will help change and bring us up out of the marsh the U.S. has been in for the last decade. Obama and MCcain both will play to the public views are how we perceive them, any smart candidate would, but problem is the " Permanant Campaign" seems to stop as soon as the general election is over, it all goes back to politics as usual rountine.
If MCcain is elected as our President will there be any difference between He and Bush? Of course there would be, MCain has reached across the aisle many of times to the Democrats, he has three bills that were signed into law with His name along with three high ranking democratic Senators. But He also is in favor of many issues that the Bush Adminstration has been behind. Some that are very concerning to me, especially the Iraq War, MCcain's plan is to stay the course, and even though casualties are down and the War is actually turning more postive since the surge, even though 8 out of 10 Americans are in favor of a withdrawl. But truth be told and needs to be understood is this: Obama or MCcain, DON'T EXPECT ANY MAJOR CHANGES!, even though Obama runs on the " We Need Change" stratgey, some policies take more than well spoken plan to acheive, but He will do a better job than MCcain with this issue, especially with public support.
* If you want to find a good book to read, I recommend, " What Happened" by former White House Press Secretary Scott MCcelland.
You will get the impression that DICK! Cheney has a very dark side to American policies, like that is a big surprise, but his influence and personal agenda had alot to do with the Iraq War.

What Happened- review

I just finished reading "What Happened" by Scott McClelland today ( 7-2-08) , the tell-all about how the Bush Administration mishandled the Iraq War, Plamegate, Katrinia, and the dubious ways of the Senior Advisors to the president. I thought Mr. McClelland was very candor and honest on how he assessed the daily job as the Whitehouse Press Secretary and how the Spin-Mastery of Washington Politics can bring breath to a administration and also take that same breath from you.

I personally feel ( even before I read the book) that no matter what party you belong to there is going to be those on top that are looking out for their personal agenda and there is nothing one can do about it. I also believe that the majority of our elected officals are truly genuine and candid about their job. With so much access to the 24/7 news cycle and how many different ways one can receive and judge for themselves on the issues at hand, they know they must uphold the job they were sworn to obey by- and the last two administrations shows us one thing for sure, that no matter which we you lean toward your views and party, the truth will almost always prevail without candor and responsive governing of our elected officals.
